Residential Options
Not surprisingly, the United States Department of Health and Human Service’s Administration on Aging reports that public opinion surveys of mature
adults all elicit the same response – the vast majority want to remain living in their own homes for as long as possible.
Why, then, do people move to continuing care retirement communities such as Clark? The reasons we hear most frequently are:
"I want to be in charge of my future."
Spoken like true planners. They want to select where they live, and they want to be assured their course is mapped in the event their
health changes.
"This is a gift to our children."
These are the givers. They want to ensure their needs will never burden those that they love.
"We want to be with others our own age and have fun."
We call these residents the funsters. Planning and giving notwithstanding, why not have a good time?
"I need some assistance."
Never easy to admit, there comes a point in the lives of many people when a helping hand is needed. We have seen residents literally blossom after
moving to Clark. The isolation of living alone is replaced with camaraderie, and easily available services can make an exponential difference in
health – especially eating regular, well-balanced meals.
There are detailed descriptions of accommodations and services in the following pages. But first, expect to see dots before your eyes – literally.
When there is so much information, it’s often helpful to see it displayed graphically. Click here to view a chart
of the services that are included in monthly fees for each type of accommodation: independent living, assisted living and skilled nursing.
