Retesting Due to Faulty Test Kits

Today, we learned from NexGen Laboratories the test kits they provided over the past two weeks, may be faulty. With this knowledge, we now must retest all residents in Oxford Manor and in the Windsor Manor designated COVID-19 unit. Retesting will conclude today; we have been told we will receive results within 72 hours. I know this news is disturbing and can assure you we will share updated results as soon as they are available.

Interim Clinical Director

We are pleased to announce Melissa Burkett, RN joined our staff as our Interim Clinical Director. In her role, Melissa is responsible for day-to-day clinical management of our staff, compliance, and infection control. Melissa brings a depth of nursing experience from roles in assisted living, skilled nursing and hospital settings. Melissa reports directly to Nancy Ayers.

Nurse Manager Update

Keith Crabb is no longer working at Keller Lake. His responsibilities are being managed by Lera Davis, LPN. Lera joined our Keller Lake team in March 2020. Prior, Lera was the skilled nursing Unit Manager at our Franklin community. You can reach Lera and 616-278-6703 or lera.davis@clarkretirement.org.

Window Visits

It’s been wonderful seeing so many window visits and witnessing the joy they bring! We encourage families to visit any day of the week between 10:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. If you need assistance with a visit, please contact Christina Turkewycz at christina.turkewycz@clarkretirement.org. Remember, windows must remain closed and masks must be worn!

Outdoor Visits

We want to begin offering outdoor visits but cannot do so until Windsor and Oxford Manors are COVID-19 free. This decision is based on CDC and CMS guidance. In the meantime, we encourage you to schedule video calls and continue window visits.

We are Community.
We are Clark.

Sincerely,
Nancy Ayers
