Olga and Bob Stritzinger had driven by Keller Lake countless times to admire the beautiful swans and wildlife. The two were ready to downsize and with the hot real estate market in Grand Rapids, they knew it was the perfect time to sell their family home and move to a Life Plan Community. Keller Lake Apartment Homes became an obvious choice for its beautiful location, as well as the great amenities and features. Since moving in last October, Bob and Olga love their new spacious apartment home and being a part of such a vibrant community.
One of their favorite features of living at Keller Lake is the fabulous and welcoming community. Since moving in, the couple has connected with many of their neighbors. They love being able to socialize when they like – whether it’s playing cards or talking to different people at coffee hour in the morning.
Olga and Bob were worried about downsizing at first, but have been pleasantly surprised by how much space they have. The two bedroom, two bathroom layout of their apartment home gives them plenty of space for guests to visit. They also love the spaciousness of each room and features like having his-and-her bathroom sinks — something they didn’t have in their last home. Another advantage of their new apartment home is the large walk-in closet which means not having to go to the basement to get their seasonal clothes.
The lighting is another feature Bob and Olga truly appreciate. They were concerned about moving around in a new space at night or in the mornings. The apartments were thoughtfully designed to include large windows that maximize the natural light. Bob mentions how nice it is to wake up and not have to worry about turning on the lights because there is so much daylight.
Being on the second floor, Olga and Bob love the view of the lake from their apartment home and consider it a nature lover’s paradise. They enjoy observing the wildlife from their windows – particularly the red tail hawk that lands in the trees and on occasion is teased by a mischief-making squirrel. They take strolls on the walking path around Keller Lake where they’ve seen swans, ducks, turtles and a two-foot fish. Bob and Olga also like spending time on their balcony looking out on the lake while they have coffee.
Bob and Olga have taken advantage of the many amenities and activities Keller Lake provides. They’ve used the fitness equipment at the Wellness Center and appreciate the variety of classes offered. Over the winter, the heated garage served multiple purposes. In addition to avoiding snow on their car, Bob and Olga, along with other residents used the heated garage for walks on cold winter days. As far as activities go, they joke that there’s so much going on you almost can’t do it all. A great problem to have!
Since the day Olga and Bob moved in, the staff has been so friendly and helpful. They remark on how phenomenal the team is – from the concierge to the dining staff. “The staff are people that truly enjoy their jobs and it makes all the difference in the world.”
Bob and Olga joke that their kids and friends are amazed at all they have! “It’s been fabulous having someone taking care of all the maintenance including TV tech help and landscaping. It’s also been great to have a concierge ready to assist when needed.”
